Homelessness is projected to increase by 33 percent from 44,172 in 2010 to 58,772 in 2020 and will more than double between 2010 and 2050.
Los Angeles County is home to more female veterans than any other county in the country. Most veterans’ organizations are geared toward serving men and are struggling to meet the needs of female veterans, who are at a significantly higher risk for homelessness. In fact, only 5% of veterans’ service organizations in Los Angeles serve women at all.
Military Women In Need remains the only organization in LA whose mission is solely dedicated to bridging these gaps, providing financial assistance to female veterans and survivors of veterans and collaborating with other agencies to provide for their most urgent needs.
Independence and freedom are the greatest gifts we have, and what this Nation stands for. Please lend your support to these women who have given so much in the name of our liberty.
Please consider our female veterans and military widows when looking for a church or school charitable project. Contact us to learn how your group can "adopt" our MWIN beneficiaries and enrich the lives of both those who give and those who receive.
